Painted Faux Tapestries
The art of painted cloth hangings is an ancient form of decoration in its own right. It is a painting that looks like a tapestry, so it’s a trompe l’oeil in that sense. The hessian (burlap) cloth is lined and interlining to help it hang and give it a rich texture.
Usually based on traditional tapestries they can incorporate personal motifs to the client or have a modern twist on tradition.
